|News: Structures Competes in Chili Cook Off
Structures had a great time competing in the Charleston Home Builders Association's third annual Chili Cook Off on Thursday, February 21, at Builder's First Source in North Charleston. The team came to defend its 2012 Grand Champion title, but did not take the prize this year! Structures competed against nearly a dozen other CBHA members, and is proud to say it came up just one vote shy of winning the coveted People's Choice Chili Award! It was a great evening of friendly competition and good company!

Check out the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition in Charleston February 15-18, 2013. SEWE is a three-day celebration of nature and wildlife featuring 500 artists and exhibitors from around the world. Paintings, sculptures, furniture, and duck decoys will be on display at special venues around the city. Head out to Marion Square to see demonstrations on cooking, fly fishing, and birds of prey. |News: Steve Kendrick Passes the Torch as 2013 CHBA President
Structures' Steve Kendrick completed his final task as 2012 president of the Charleston Home Builders Association on January 15 when he introduced the 2013 president, Andy Barber of Builders First Source. In addition to a changing of the guard, CHBA members also gathered to hear a panel discussion from the school superintendents of Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties. The builders and school leaders quickly saw how they shared the same vision for Charleston's future: great schools, a quality workforce, and increased job growth.
|News: Team Completes MUSC Healthy Challenge
Congratulations to all of our team members who recently completed the MUSC Healthy Charleston Challenge! The 12-week community weight loss competition incorporated nutrition and fitness classes at the MUSC Wellness Center in downtown Charleston. We are so proud of our team members who represented us well in this competition! Through the MUSC Healthy Charleston Challenge and Bootcamp, the Structures team lost over 177 pounds!

Structures celebrates 13 years as a company this month! We are incredibly thankful for the 100+ clients for whom we've either built or renovated a home and the many subcontractors and trades who are an important part of what we do. Here's to many more years of custom home building and re-modeling with Steve Kendrick and the entire Structures Team!

It was another great year for Structures at the annual PRISM Awards Event sponsored by The Post & Courier! We were selected for a PRISM Award for Best Product - Single Family Home in the $1 million to $1.5 million range for a lovely Beau Clowney designed home in Mt. Pleasant's Old Village. We are very thankful to be honored with this award and for clients who love their quality, custom home!

We are excited to announce the completion of a whole-home beach front renovation on the Isle of Palms! This ReStructure project (designed by Herlong & Associates)transformed an outdated beach house into a family's dream home with 6 bedrooms and 61/2 bathrooms including 2 master suites, a gourmet kitchen, and sweeping views of the Atlantic. Last week, Structures was honored with a 2012 Roaring 20's Award, an annual award given to high performance businesses in our state. Structures was ranked #2 in South Carolina for small businesses! We were so honored to participate in the event, and humbled to be ranked so highly among some of South Carolina's fastest growing companies!

|News: New Additions to Our Team
Our team here at Structures is growing! We would like to introduce you to Chris Hulsey and Mandy Shealy - our newest team members. Chris is a Structures Project Manager with over 14 years of custom home building and real estate experience here in Charleston. He is a USC graduate and currently lives in Mt. Pleasant. Mandy recently joined our crew as a Designer. She has a degree in Interior Design from James Madison University and previously worked in a plumbing, lighting and appliance showroom for over 8 years. We are excited to have both of these wonderful additions at Structures!
